Why Go or Elixir for everything?
Because scale shouldn't cost you €10k/month in AWS bills. Elixir is unmatched for real-time features (chat, dashboards), and Go is perfect for high-speed services, command line apps and automation. Together, they allow us to serve thousands of users on a simple €20 VPS while others are drowning in "cloud tax."
Why Linux servers over "The Cloud"?
Managed platforms (Heroku, Firebase, AWS, GCP, Azure) are great for the first week but become "vampire costs" as you scale. By automating raw Linux servers, we keep your infrastructure costs under €50/mo for a long time. You get AWS-level power at a fraction of the cost. 95% of the internet websites run on single servers. The redundancy built into technology is amazing, you don't need to add complexity.
How are you cheaper than an agency?
Agencies have sales teams, HR, office rent, and non-coding managers. You are paying for their 40% profit margin. With me, you pay for 100% engineering. You aren't subsidizing someone else's office coffee machine.
What about internal tools?
I don't believe in paying $20/user for every SaaS. I prefer installing self-hosted, open-source alternatives on your own servers to keep your monthly burn near zero. THis way you avoid any vendor lockin. There are thousands of apps which I can configure on a Linux server which will make your life easier.
Who owns the Intellectual Property (IP)?
You own the Foreground IP (the unique code built specifically for your product) upon payment. To speed up development, I often use my proprietary Background IP (pre-built, battle-tested modules for auth, infra, etc.). Depending on our contract, these are either sublicensed to you or included as a premium speed-boost to get you to market months earlier.
What happens if the startup succeeds?
That's the goal. I don't hold code hostage. As you grow, I help you interview and hire your first full-time devs or help you automate to keep it a one man show. I then transition into an advisory role, providing code reviews and architectural guidance at a reduced fractional rate.
Is there a formal contract?
Yes. We sign a standard Service Agreement that clearly defines deliverables, IP transfer, and confidentiality. It’s a professional partnership designed to protect both your equity and my expertise.
What if I only have a pitch deck/presentation/idea?
If you have no budget yet, I recommend building a "No-Code" version to validate the idea first. Come to me when you are ready to build the real foundation that investors and early-adopters can actually trust.
With vibe coding everywhere, why even hire someone?
Vibe coding can generate some code, but if you try to add new features you'll realize.. you need knowledge on how to actually set up a server, and then you get locked into expensive cloud services and other systems which complicate the matters. 94% of vibe coded "apps" don't even get launched to see real users due to this. With a real human, you get an app which is guaranteed to live.
Do you use AI?
I believe specialized optimized algorithms is much better than throwing expensive LLM's at everything. We only add AI where it makes sense.
How do we communicate and what is your availability?
I only work with 2-3 founders at a time. We use DeltaChat for daily async updates and one deep-dive Strategy Call weekly to align the roadmap. This ensures "Lead" level quality without the meeting fatigue.
